During the two days of September 14-15, the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital organized a notable event: the conference “Satellite hospital to expand and conduct scientific research in obstetrics in the Northern region in 2023” in the city. Bac Ninh. Although the Satellite Hospital Project has ended in 2020, this annual conference is still held with the goal of maintaining support and connection to improve professional capacity for medical staff in the provinces. 

Attending the Conference were leaders of Bac Ninh province, including Mr. Dao Khac Hung, Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Department of Health and representatives of leaders of satellite hospitals. The Central Obstetrics Hospital has an Associate Professor, PhD. Tran Danh Cuong, Hospital Director, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Hanoi Medical University; Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Du - Deputy Director of the hospital, Heads and Deputy Heads of departments, rooms, and center units under the Central Obstetrics Hospital; Lecturers participate in teaching and transferring technology to satellite hospitals. 

The conference "Satellite hospital expansion and scientific research specialized in obstetrics in the Northern region in 2023" is an important step in providing and improving the quality of obstetric medical services in the region. Collaboration and knowledge sharing between satellite hospitals is one way to ensure that patients in the Northern region Enjoy quality and effective medical care and reduce patient travel time while reducing overcrowding at central hospitals. 

The conference focused on important topics such as prenatal screening, reducing antibiotic use for newborns, and approaches to caesarean section scar defects. The information and knowledge from these scientific reports has the potential to bring about significant improvements in obstetrics and gynecology services and women's health care. Scientific reports presented at the conference include the following topics:  

– NIPT – Global trends in prenatal screening reported by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Danh Cuong, Director of the National Obstetrics Hospital;  

– Effectiveness of reducing antibiotics from the centralized drug preparation model for newborns and applicability to hospitals by Dr. Le Minh Trac, Director of the Center for Neonatal Care and Treatment of Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Central reporting 

– Approach to cases of cesarean section scar defects from theory to clinical practice reported by Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Si Hung - Deputy Director of the National Reproductive Support Center - Central Obstetrics Hospital.   

In addition, the Conference also included other scientific reports from satellite hospitals:  

– Emergency cervical cerclage in twin pregnancies with one miscarriage: Case report by Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Quang Ninh Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital  

– The prognostic value of cervical ripeness of transvaginal ultrasound in labor induction by foley tube by Dr. Tran Thi Son Tra - Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital, Dong Hoi - Quang Binh report.
